What a game!

 

On the 10th of March there was a basketball tournament between 4 teams.  It took place at the gym of school # 34 at 10:00 a.m.  The team named “Sprint” consisted of the teachers of physical training.  The next team’s name was “KS-17”.It was represented by a local gas pumping station.  The third team was new but not weak for the rivals.  Its name was “TCh-5”.  The final team was represented by “Kellogg Brown and Root, Inc”.

It is not new for us that Americans live here in Kartaly, but Americans playing basketball with our people was a surprise for everybody.  A lot of viewers and fans came for that tournament.  Dancing kids cheered up the sportsmen before the beginning of the game. ”Sprint” and “KBR” started the competition.  Players were fighting for the ball furiously. The tension was growing with every score.  The fans were trying to cheer up their teams. The teachers were in a good shape and showed their skills in a full scale, but “KBR” team was strong also. They were not going to give up at all and gathered all the effort to win. By that time they did not have enough time to make more baskets.  The score of that game was 53 to 26 “Sprint” as the winners.

      

The other two teams appeared.  It was “KS-17” and TCh-5”.  Everybody wanted to win. That's what their fans were expecting from them.  The winner”TCh-5” will fight for the 1 place with “Sprint”.  During the break everybody “attacked” Americans with their questions.  Soon it was the time to start the game for the third place.  “KBR” was the leader of that game.  “KS-17” also had strong players.  They made several successful baskets. ”KBR” did not have problems with good players either.  Their tactics was right and they got the third place.

The most exciting game was ahead.  After the whistle of the referee the last game began. The player’s faces looked serious and intense.  That game had a lot of replacements.  The players used their last strength to get a higher score.  ”TCh-5” tried to defend their positions, but “Sprint” turned out to be more experienced.  They were the ones to get the Victory.

When the winner was known and the places defined “KBR” gave their prizes to the school where the tournament took place.  The prizes were nice uniforms and a ball. 

Everybody who was there that day at school realized that not a victory but participation was the most important thing. “KBR” gave the sportsmen the opportunity to meet together and compare their strength.  They were thankful to the “KBR” as the initiators of the Tournament.
