A spring exhibition in Poltavskaya School

Fine art is something that we can’t stop adoring and admiring.  On the 4th of April in Poltavskaya secondary school there was an exhibition of works of the pupils organized by the local Art school.  The name of the show was “Spring Opening day”.

The principles of both schools invited Steve LeMelle and Tim Trujillo to visit the exhibition.

At the beginning the teachers from the Art school tried to tell more about the works of their pupils. They explained the guests the history of this or that work, the ideas that the children wanted to pass to viewers. The teachers also showed some pictures and told about the drawing rules using those pictures as examples.  Everybody learned several new art terms as well as different fine art types. The guests saw portraits, still life pictures, landscapes, applied art, wicker-work and many other things made by kids. “It was little masterpieces” –as Tim and Steve said.

When the presentation of the exposition was over the children, their parents and the teachers started a kind of press conference. They asked Steve and Tim about their work in Kartaly, their likes and dislikes. There were a lot of questions concerning art in the States.   Some questions were about the youth problems in the USA.  The children wondered what American teenagers do in their spare time, etc.
